Beast of Burton (10.0%) Barrel Aged Triple IPA by Ocho Beer

Burton-on-Trent is the birthplace of IPA; the beer style that shaped our love for beer.
To celebrate Ocho's 10th birthday we brewed this lumbering beast of an IPA.
Mellowed for 8 months on oak hogsheads before a final dry hopping, the result is a complex and beautiful tribute to the origins of IPA.
Tasting Notes:
aroma= complex fruitiness hinting at plums, red wine, and dried fruit, with a hint of oak.
flavour= bittersweet malt with lovely dry oaky finish. Fruity and floral, with a complex port/wine, crusty bread and fruit leather character.
overall= a wonderfully enigmatic beer - unlike anything we know as IPA today, but a very satisfying and complex interplay between malt, hops, and oak.
Ingredients:
Malt: extra pale malt, roast malt
Hops: Ella, East Kent Goldings
Yeast: English Ale & American Ale
Barrels: French oak hogsheads (300L) for 8 months.
