Old Dreadful is brewed in the style of English Old Ales - stronger beer that was intended to be aged for months before being blended with young beer by publicans before serving.
Ours is a deep copper malt-driven ale that spent 4 months in French oak hogsheads from our friends down the road at Swinging Gate Wines.
Tasting Notes:
Immensely malty, it's thick and rich yet finishes quite dry and moreish. We tasted brandy-soaked plum pudding and molasses, with a refreshing savoury note from the oak.
